We still get questions about the 2 barrel Generac generators so this should help clear up most of the uncertainty. We have tri-fuel kits for all the Generac 15KW and 17.5KW generators to add propane and natural gas but still keep the gasoline system unaffected. These are termed MFI systems which means Multi-Fuel Induction. Often customers want to make absolutely sure that their particular model will work with the MFI-B2B kit so here is a list of Generac engine and generator model numbers:
· Generac Guardian Centurion 17000KW –model # 5396 992cc
· Generac Guardian Ultra Source 15000KW- model # 4582 992cc
· Generac Guardian Ultra Source 17000KW- model # 4583 992cc
· Generac GP Series 15000E –model # 5734-0 992cc
· Generac GP Series 17000E –model # 5735-0 992cc
The MFI-B2B kit is one of our best selling systems and also one of the easiest for customers to install but is for the most part an OEM type kit. As alternate fuel experts, we designed a process where we modify the original gasoline carburetor and make it into a full functioning tri-fuel “hybrid” carburetor. As the Yamaha National Hybrid Center, we have been using this process of gasoline carburetor modification for many years on the full line of Yamaha’s we sell, even though it’s not mentioned directly on our website.
This system is unique and here is how it works: Our technicians precisely install a set of specially designed induction tubes directly into each barrel of the Generac 2 barrel carburetor and these two tubes have a connector that allows them to be attached to the engine fuel metering regulators. When you receive the carburetor back from us it will be part of a complete kit that is now ready to bolt back on and run on any of the three fuels.
Now if you would like to order you have several options for this system:
NEW CARBURETOR AND KIT Click here to order
This is the quickest way to be up and running on tri-fuel. Just place your order and both a factory new carburetor and complete conversion kit will be shipped. When you receive it, swap out the carburetor by removing your existing gasoline carburetor and installing the new one. At that point the generator is ready to run on gasoline. Once the reminder of the kit is installed the generator is ready for propane and natural gas use as well. You can store your existing gasoline carburetor for future use or send it back to us for inspection and receive a core refund.
NEW CARBURETOR SWAP Click here to order
Place your order first, then remove, what should look like, the "clean-brand new-never used" carburetor from your machine and send it to us. When we receive the unused looking carburetor and it passes inspection, a kit will be sent with a modified carburetor ready to bolt back on and run.
USED CARBURETOR MODIFICATION Click here to order
Place your order first, then run the carburetor completely dry of gasoline. Remove the "used" carburetor from your machine and clean any build up of dirt or grease. Allow all gasoline vapors to dissipate. Also check with your shipper for any additional requirements for shipping. We will not modify a soiled carburetor. Send the carburetor to us and when we receive it and it passes visual inspection, it will be assigned to a technician for modification. When completed, the carburetor will be returned with the complete kit ready to bolt back on and run.
Currently the basic kit price is $397.00 and the core charge for the new carburetor is $128.
